Snaps | 2011 Mexican Standoff Preperation

22 06 2011

The crew has been working hard getting all the cars ready for “The Mexican Standoff”. This event is round 2 of the Formula Drift Pro-am series. With many drivers from Team Silhouette sitting pretty in points, and Formula D pro licenses on the line, it should be nothing less than one of the most exciting grass roots drift events that Texas has ever seen. We hope to see all of our fans there! The event is in Mineral Wells, Texas on this coming Saturday June 25th. We should have extra NEW shirts on hand for purchase that crew members will be sporting, so get at us!

Robert Lee placed second last year and looks to keep it going this year and stay on top of the pro-am series point standings to secure his fd pro license.

Here is some quick snaps of the team dialing in their cars for the event.

Nacho getting Justin’s Tiffany and Co inspired s13 aligned.

0 rear camber and bigger rubber out back for the teal s chassis.

Robert also received a fresh alignment on his newly kitted ae86.

About 1/4th of the tires that were mounted that night.

Sometimes extra measures are required to stretch some tires.

Quick overlook of Luis’ rear suspension before the weekend.

His car also just had a full roll cage welded in.

A silhouette up’n comer Rudy’s car, this man helped with alignments and tires all night. Huge thanks to him!

Hope to see everybody out there! Show us some love and hit “like” on our facebook page, you can find the link on the right side of this page. Until next time, wish us luck and hopefully we will be back with some extra cash in our pockets.

Drift Events | Silhouette On Top In Angelton

24 08 2010

Well Robert and Justin decided at the last minute to hit a local grassroots drift comp in Angelton this past weekend. Robert qualified 1st with Justin right behind in the 2nd qualifying position. Both drivers won both of their tandem battles and faced off against each other in the finals. With super close tandem it was hard for the judges to call the first battle so it went on to “One More Time” where Robert’s tires just did not have enough life left causing him to spin at the end of the first run and the one tire blow on his follow run giving Justin the victory.
